Skagway, Alaska.

Skagway, Alaska.
It is fun to go by train to the White Pass Summit. The White Pass Summit has an elevation of 2888 feet high! When the train goes down is it bumpy. Along the way, the train passed through two tunnels and over several trestle bridges. The scenery was spectacular!

Why are brown bears important?

Brown bears are a part of our culture that dates back 3000 years. They are a symbol of true wilderness. Many native Americans believe brown bears possess special powers. Brown bears are similar to humans because they stand on two feet and eat plants and animals. Brown bear mothers also protect their cubs for 2 years after being born. Brown bears almost became extinct, but have made a comeback, as their population recovery is one of the biggest successes ever.

Bears the Movie

The new Disney movie Bears was filmed in Alaska.
